Blood test back :( Need prayer.....

Hi all just wanted to leave a quick post to let everyone know I am still blogging, havent been getting many comments on my blog lately and I am not sure if its because I am totally boring or if everyone has been super busy getting ready for the Holidays, I am assuming its a little of both :)

I did not completely finish my sewing room like I had planned and I have still not even got to turn my new used serger on, bummer I know but today I had a follow up apt with the doc to go over my blood work and it ended up not going to well found out my liver enzymes are up so I have to go in for a sonogram and I have to do more blood test to check for hepititus. Also I had something up with my anitnucular antibodies, I tested positive on that and the number was pretty high or something like that so now I have to see a romatologist to see what kind of tissue disease I may have, she is leaning towards lupus but nothing set in stone till I see the specialist. My cholestoral was a little high but cant take meds for that cause of my liver problem and my vitamin d was low. Ugh...... so for now it is wait and see and while I wait and wait some more I have to start exercising and lose some weight, alot of weight. She gave me a paper with several diets and told me to just find one that fits me that I can do no matter what it be so, starting tomorrow I begin my quest.
I will keep everyone updated as I find things out, prayers are needed and would be greatly appreciated, I am not ok with having anything wrong with me and am chosing to fight this all the way.

Hugs,
Kathy

My serger has arrived!

O yeah my serger came home to me on Saturday and I am so excited to finally meet her. She is a Simplicity easylock SL370 and is the perfect starter serger, or that is what I have heard anyway, I have not got to use her yet because I am waiting for hubby to bring home the manual he is printing of for me because mine was bought without the manual. I am so ready to fire this baby up and give her a try. If you read my previous post you would know that I purchased this serger from ebay I was the highest bidder and won her at $56.00.

My sewing room should be all set up and ready to be used by the end of today so I will post pictures at that time also had two birthdays in our house over the weekend and pics to share of that great day also.

Hugs,
Kathy

An Award for me that I am given to you :)

I received this awesome reward from my gal Julia, this lady really amazes me she is so creative and such and inspiration to me, I always look forward to her blog and all her wonderful creations. She is truely one of a kind and you should totally check out her blog http://juliassewsweetandspecial.blogspot.com/ you will be hooked I promise.
Scrap means left over, fragments, discarded material. Many times truth and honesty are discarded material, considered fragments and left over. People like us need to tell it like it is, and let the scraps fall where they will.

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person who gave the award and list their blog and link it.

2. Share "10 Honest Things" about yourself.

3. Present this award to 7 others whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you.

4. Tell those 7 people they've been awarded Honest Scrap and inform them of these guidelines in receiving the award.

Okay now for me to share 10 things with you about myself, hmmmm let's see.

1) When I was a little girl I loved Doris Day and I would play for hours pretending to be her. I just loved the dresses she wore and always wanted one but have yet to have one, but I do have a pattern of one, hmmm......

2) I love old black and white movies and I loved Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, Frank Sinatra and such.

3) I was so in love with Chachey(Scott Baio) from Happy Days.

4) I love to eat Menudo (my husband so grosses out on this)

5) I have always wanted to speak another language, spanish would be great because of where we live.

6) I have always wanted to adopt a baby and actually have been thinking of it more and more lately but, hubby says no we are getting to old and I have to agree plus we have a grandson on the way and he should feel that desire to hold and cuddle and smell a newborn. :)

7) I love porch swings and quiet evenings and the smell after a fresh rain and the sound of crickets and toads after a long rain.

8) I love the smell of fresh laundry hung on a clothesline, it reminds me of my childhood (I hated that job).

9) When I was just a child I would dream of someday being a singer. I love to sing still and actually did grow up to be a singer, I sing at our church, not what I thought I would be back then, I was thinking more along the lines of being famous, but God hears me and I enjoy it tremendously.

10) I have a half sister from my dad that I have never met (she was born way before me) and I have a half brother from my mom that I have never met. She was very young when she had him and the mother of the daddy had their marriage annuled and the baby was taken away from my mother and adopted out. She did find him and see him when he was a little over a year old but was never allowed to see him again. All the way up to her dying day she spoke of him and wanting to find him someday. She never did.

Now I must reward only 7 bloggers, now thats a toughy.

1) Dana at www.dana-made-it.com is so amazing, she has the cutest kiddos and this lady is so creative and has that colgate smile that warms your heart. I love all the cute things she makes for her wee ones and she has inspired me in more ways then I am sure she knows.

My not so new serger and My sewing room progress!

Ebay is now my new best friend. It has been around forever and I have visited before long ago but on my quest to find a serger it popped into my head as the "place to go", and so I did and guess what. I got a serger! YES! and it only cost me $56 bucks, plus s & h. I am so excited! This pic is super sucky sorry it was a copy and paste but it is mine so I had to show her off some how. She is a Simplicity easy lock model SL370 and the seller says it runs perfect and has everything with it. YIPPY!

I also bid on and won a few other things, mostly lil girl clothes size 6x for my Bry but I also scored some iron on's and some super cute fabric.

Both of these fab fabrics are 2 yrds and the bomb. The green floral one is vintage and I Love It!

These two cute lil iron on's were a had to have at less than a buck each. The F is no ones initial in our house but I am sure I can figure out something to use it for, thought about adding ancy to it and making the word Fancy on a shirt or pair of jeans, what do you think?
These lil frogs were a must also because I have the matching fabric and gonna get busy making a cute outfit for my Bry when they arrive in the mail.

O Yeah I way scored and you should see the darling outfits I got also were at an awesome price with everthing I got I spent way less than a hundred dollar bill I will post pictures of the outfits later I am to excited about the "me" things I got right now especially my SERGER!

And now for my sewing room news. It is done being painted and tomorrow I am going to spend the day organizing and putting everything in its place and then onto the real fun. SEWING, CRAFTING and whatever else I may wanna do in there because after all it is MY room :)

Kathy

My Sewing room is getting a face lift!

Okay this is my second go around at having my sons old room for my sewing/crafting room but this time it is gonna stay mine and since that is so it is getting a face lift with two of my favorite color combinations Aqua and Red. I will post pics as soon as I get the painting done and everything set back in place which may take awhile cause it is a super mess right now but the painting is almost done so maybe I will take a few pics before I have it lookin all fine. I'm so excited I cant wait to get creative in that space, need to get busy making Christmas gifts real soon or I am gonna be freakin at the last minute like I did last year and I dont want to do it this year.

IT'S A BOY!

Yep my grandbaby is a boy, we found out on Monday. We all had a feeling it was a boy so it was not a suprise. He ways a little over a half a pound and looks just like me, lol ok well maybe not but he looked like he wants to look like me. All is good with mama and baby and her due date is still April 12,2010, his name is going to be Bryce Derrick, she has had that name picked since the day she found out she was expecting so it stuck and nothing sounds good except that name.

I haven't decided what I want him to call me yet but I do spend time at night right before I fall asleep thinking about what he should call me, lol. So if any of you have grandkids I would love to know what your name is to them.

Name for my "some day" online shop and a question

Hi gals, well as some of you remember a while back I talked about doing etsy or artfire or something to sell some of my handmade goodies, well now that my sewing room is just about finished I am thinking in that direction again.
I have come up with a name that I like and sounds kinda cute but thought I would ask for your opinion. Drum roll.........Darling Doodlebug!
Catchy? Silly? Rediculas? Foolish? Cute? or trash it and start again? Feed back please.

Now for another huge question. How do you put pictures or a picture with your blog title? I see so many of your blogs with cute photos and doodles and such behind or to the side of your blog name and mine is just so plain and BORING! But I cannot seem to figure out how to do it. Please HELP!

Weekend is now coming to an end and hubby and I got lots of things completed this week but still have lots on our list, yes list, oh did I not mention that to you. Well the other night I decided we needed a "to do" list and boy did we make one, but it proved to be very helpful because we would go to our list chose something that we could accomplish and finish and we would do it and mark it off, marking it off alone felt so good helped us see that the list is doable and should have been made a long time ago. It will take us quite a while to finish it and I am sure we will be adding to it as we go along but atleast now we have a "plan" and can see light at the end of the tunnel just by marking one thing off at a time. Anywho, food for thought.

I will be waiting for your info on the blog pic and your comments on my shop name.
See ya Monday.
Hugs,
Kathy

Got some stuff to share with pictures.

Hi all, as usual I have not stayed up with my blogging but, I have been reading a ton of blogs and have begin to follow a ton more that I have found and that are so awesome have added some of their buttons to my blog so stop by and check them out.

We have been very busy around here. Been doing alot of things that have been just sitting on the back burner in desperate need of our attention one being my sewing room. I am almost done with it actually should have it painted and completed by this weekend and I will post some pics of my completed getaway. lol

Have lots of pics to share, finally.
Really need to pull out my good camera but my blackberry has done its job.

Our youngest had a busy week right before Halloween, sock day, crazy hair day, crazy hat day and blue and white day which is always on Fridays to represent and support our football team, "GO WILDCATS".

Crazy Hair day......

Crazy Hat day.......

Blue n white day "GO WILDCATS"

I made her tutu n her mum for blue n white day which was also Homecoming, I also made my 11 yr old daughters mum but she got away before I could take a pic and she brought it home looking not quite like it did when it left so chalked that one up to "darn"

Bry and I also made some Halloween cookies on Halloween day, I know how dumb to make a ton of sugar cookies with homemade frosting right before going trick or treating, well it was fun and daddy and I loved them, ALOT. :)

I also made her Halloween costume that day, minus the wings, lol. Made the tutu and spray painted her hair PINK, it was cool outside and I knew she could'nt wear a jacket with those wings(which by the way I got slapped in the face with atleast a hundred times that night) so I found her Barbie sweatshirt and told her she could go as the Barbie fairy which worked perfectly since she had just watched a Barbie fairy movie. You go Mom! We met up with her oldest sister and her husband and loaded them all onto the back of our Ford and went trick or treating. I drove while dad did the door to door, she is a daddy's girl so it was not happening any other way.

Isnt she just the prettiest Barbie fairy you have ever layed eyes on, we think so.

Well I did it, I finally posted with pics, Yeah Me!

Hope all of you are doing great and enjoying fall as much as I am. I will post pics of my creative space in a couple of days, I am so excited.

Hugs,

Kathy

Hi Bloggers

Hi everyone, yes I know it has been awhile since my last blog but omg so much has been going on around here that I don't know if I am coming or going anymore. Lots of changes in our lives almost every day it seems like.

I have done zero sewing or crafing of any kind. I have promised myself that I am going to work on my sewing room this week and get it organized and ready for some creativeness.

I am so disappointed in myself this year I have not done anything I had planned on doing in 2009, one thing that I was gonna do was lots of sewing and crafting to open my very own online shop, well that hasn't happened another plan was to have as much as I could made for the Arts and Crafts show that comes to our town every November and is awesome! Last year I enjoyed every both and had decided that I was going to rent my own this year and sell sell sell. NOT! It stinks because people come from all over to this event and the vendors all do very well and get lots of sells and publicity which is just what I need. Oh well to late now, guess I will try again for next year :(

I have oh so many pics to post and I promise you all I will do my best to get some posted on my blog this week. What is a blog without pics, right?

I have been reading some really good books lately although life has been hecktic I love lying in bed at night when the house is all alseep and enjoying a good book, makes for a great nights sleep. I love Nicholas Sparks as most of you may already know and I am now a huge fan of Jude Deveraux, I also like Danielle Steel and Debbie MaComber to list a few.

Well folks I off to read and hopefully get a good nights rest things are really bad around here right now, long story but please pray pray pray for us we need it terribly.

Hugs to all!

Hi I'm back!

Oh my it has been awhile since my last blog, things have been so crazy around here that I barely have time to think, lol!

Well my ds is home with us again things did not work out for him with his bio father. The city he moved to is way to big for a small town boy and has too much problems to go with it. So he is home with us and we are doing some serious training and threatening with him. He was missed but he knows that he has no room for error.

I am still doing tons of organizing and painting and re arranging thus the reason for my lack of sewing which I am missing dearly but, things are getting done around here and eventually I will have a well organized home and sewing will be all I have left to do and when that day comes I have a dozen sewing projects in mind.

I will take some pics of my newly painted and organized spaces as they get completed. Miss you all keep praying for us and stay in touch. Hugs :)

And the cleaning continues oh and a marriage begins

Quick correction, some of you may not be able to find flylady at .org so try www.flylady.net a blogger pointed this out to me so thought I would correct that. Thanks!

I am still cleaning up a storm and am so happy with the outcome. It feels so good to have things organized and tidy. It is really good for the soul and the attitude, lol.
I have been working on organizing and purging something everyday and it is really paying off I woke up this morning to a tidy kitchen and living room so all I have to do is make my bed and tidy my room then I can be onto the laundry room, ugh........

Now about the marriage I mentioned in my header. My daughter is now a married women. They were married by the Justice of the Peace on Monday. We are going to have a wedding for them still but not sure of the date so atleast they are legal now and can start their new lives. They have their own home now and are working hard to make it their own so keep them in your prayers cause at their age they are going to need all the prayer they can get.

Off to a funeral a dear elderly lady at our church passed away on Saturday. She will be missed but we all know she is home with the Lord and her husband.

Saturday organizing

Well I spent today cleaning and organizing my kitchen cabnets and although I am bushed I am also very delighted to have them in order again, funny how things can get so out of whack in no time.
I thought I would share with you an awesome website that is great for getting your house in order. This lady has taught me and is still teaching me how to keep all my home clean and tidy just by following a routine and doing something everyday. Please visit this web site and sign up for her emails I promise if you give it a chance you will love it. www.flylady.org share your thoughts with me when you have a look and if any of you are already flying I would love to hear any of your testimonies.

Loving my organized kitchen. Now I have the rest of the house to do....ugh...... :p

Happy September!

Well not much to blog about since I have pretty much spilled my guts in the last two entries. lol
My sister is doing good, still doing her dialysis but is home now and very happy to be in her own surroundings. She is such a trooper, she has to have 5 hours of dialysis every other day and although it totally exhaust her she never complains. Keep praying for her and her girls.

I don't think I shared our "new church" news with all of you. We had been attending the same church for a year now and was feeling God tugging us to make a move in a different direction. You know that feeling you have that your season is over but you are comfortable and being at the same place same time just seems to work for you even though you know inside it is time to move on, well that was us, it was time and after much pouting and sulling we did it. We are now attending a great church that has done wonders to us spiritually. The people are great and God is really moving there. Not that the people weren't great at our other church mind you, it is just different here, what we needed, like a cold drink of water after a long thirst. You know what I mean?

I have yet to get my sewing room organized but plan on working in it this coming week have a ton of stuff to get sewn and lots of projects I am excited to start. I will post pics of my sewing room when I get it photographable.

Hope everyone has a great 3 day weekend. Hugs................

Ok now for the rest of the story........

My son was shipped out to live with his bio father on the 9th of August as you all know, well that was not the end of the story for that week but the beginning. On the 10th I decided to take my 15 yr old daughter for a pregnancy test because she had missed her period and has been dating the same guy for a year now so I decided that she needed to get checked even though we had put her on the birth control shot a few weeks earlier which at the time they did a test and it came back negative but the nurse told us at that time that there was still a chance she could be pregnant and it was just too soon to read on their tests, oh no my daughter was sure she was not and so we went ahead and gave her the shot. Anyway, back to the 10th, my daughter kept reminding me of the previous test and how the nurse had told us that one of the side effects of the shot is to not have a period at all, and that it was not possible for her to be pregnant being on the shot and yada yada, well you know that motherly instinct you get, I had it, and boy was I right. She is pregnant will be 8 weeks on Moday. The test came back very positive and I thought she was going to faint when the nurse gave us the results. Apparently she was only about a week pregnant when she got the shot and that is why is showed up negative. OMG! I AM GONNA BE A GRANDMA! Yep I could have died right there. But I didn't and live has gone on and we are now preparing for a baby. The daddy is wanting to marry her and they are very much in love and yada yada. IDK which way to go. Do I let them marry and take care of this situation on their own, or do I raise another kid, which I had no plans of doing, my youngest just started kindergarten and I finally have my house to my self.
WOW! I am over the shock and after having a huge scare with her a few weeks ago and having to rush her to the doc for cramping and bleeding and getting to see the baby and the little heart beating inside her I have decided that I love her and I love what is happening inside her, I dont like it a bit but I love her and I know we will make it through this, I watched her cry with relief and amazement as the doctor showed us her baby and showed us the heart beating and gave us her due date and that melted my heart in more ways than one.

Please pray for us during this challenging time. So much has been going on with us that I dont know what is up or what is down anymore. All I know is that this is a season that we are going through and though we are being tested I know we will make it threw and will be stronger in the end. My heart is broken in so many pieces because of my sister, my son and now my daughter but I love them all and I will be supportive and caring and understanding as much as I can, I will never stop loving my children although my heart may ache because of them or their actions. I know a new life in this family would be quite a change after all the death we have had in the last few years. So with that please pray for my lil girl, her baby and her baby's daddy that God would join them in the way he sees fit, that all would go well with her pregnancy and delivery. Please pray for strength and understaning for her because she is so young her youth is now gone and she has had to become a women too soon.
Oh yeah and her due date is April 12,2010 and she has decided she is having a girl. lol..........

Update on my sister n stuff....

Hi everyone I know it has been a long time since my last blog but life has been craszy here, as usual......

My sister is doing well, better then we thought she would be especially since not even the docs thought she would live long upon her arrival at the hospital. She was very ill and her life was litteraly hanging by a thread, but with lots a prayer and tons on faith and a strongwill to live she is doing better and was sent home a few days ago. She is still doing her dialysis every other day and taking chemo and radiation but has gained some color back is now able to walk a little on her own and is home resting in her own surroundings. She still has a long way to go and recovery may never come totally but for now we are all just happy to see her smiling and laughing. She has been through so much and has bounced back twice from her death bed with all her doctors amazed at her strong will and determination to live.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind words.

Now onto my son. He is still with his father and has adjusted well as far as I know. I have missed him and my heart is still broken from all the pain he has caused our family. I speak to him every now and then but it always seems to end in a fight so for now I think it is best for us to have no communication between each other for awhile. Sounds crazy and hurtful and it is but my heart cannot take the person he has become and the disrepect he always seems to deal me so, I think distance and time and lots of mature growth on his side is the only way our relationship is ever going to mend. It is so painful to lose a child to rebellion and to know that no matter what you say or do you are always the bad guy. He is very ugly and mouthy, which he has been for years, but seems like it has gotten worse since he has left, my hubby says it is because he is not face to face with me so he thinks he can run his mouth all he wants and get away with it because I am further then arm reach of him so I can not reach over and knock him into next week for using foul language or copping an attitude. Makes me so angry, so hurt, so ashamed and confused. He seems to care only for himself and what makes his world go around. He has always been a very selfish child and the older he gets the worse it gets. I talked to him briefly tonight to let him know that I found out that he stole all of my mama's (God rest her soul) rings, even her and my daddys wedding rings. He just got ugly with me and denied it. He also stole my hubby's college grad ring which he has had for over 20 years. And he stole my hubby's aka rifle and his 9 mm stainless steel pistol, which was the reason he was sent away. When he was confronted with all of this he just got angry and violent. He has stole from us all his life but this was the last straw. Now that he is gone and we are having time to go through our things we are finding more and more stuff missing mostly jewlery, a diamond tennis braclet, diamond cross necklace, a sterling silver necklace, the list goes on and on. Before he left we noticed that he always had money to spend and were finding cigeret butts and empty pkgs out on our land ofcourse he denied it all and we were so sick of fighting that we would just clean them up, talk with him or ground him and move on. We found out about the guns being gone when some kids told my daughter that her brother had given them a couple of guns of their dads, sure enough she came home and told us and the guns were missing. My hubby went straight to the police and filed a report with my daughter and son their to tell their story about the missing guns. Unfortunitly my dd does not know the guys that told her they only knew her as James sister. He denied the whole thing and basically without the serial numbers the cops can do nothing. My dear husband has had these guns for years and years so we have been searching like crazy trying to find the paper work on them. Ugh........ my hubby found out that one of the guns is worth $4000 alone now and the other prob more and I think my son traded them for a few packs of smokes because they had no value to him execpt for what he wanted out of it.
Sorry for the rambling just needing to vent I guess. Anyway, please pray that God will guide him in his life and that some day he will change and repent for what he has done and actually be remorseful about it. We love him deeply but have chosen to remove him from our home which as a parent you should never have to do. If you cant trust your own family the child you bore and raised and loved then who can you trust?

I have tons of other news to share but I will give your ears a rest and save the rest for another blog.

Thank you all again for your kind words and prayers, keep praying we need all we can get.
Hugs, Kathy

Sister Update and more news

First of all I would like to say thank you to everyone that has been praying for my sister and her family.
Thursday we got news that my sisters cancer had caused her to get plasma cell Leukimia which is caused by the Muliple Meloma and the prognosis was not good. Later that eve my neice called and said my sister was asking that all of us come up there so she could talk with each of us. So off I went on a 2 hour drive at around 7:30 that night. When I arrived at the hospital they had moved her to the stem cell unit which is a quarintined unit. I was very amazed at how well she looked compared to the last time I had seen her which was only last weekend. She looked good. They had started her on dialysis for her kidney failure and was going to start chemo the following day. Everyone arrived there one after the other and when we were all settled my sister began talking to us about the possibility of her dieing which immediatly brought all of us to tears. She went on to say that she was not scared that she was at peace and ready to go home if that was God's will. She told each of us that she loved us and shared some stuff that she need to say to some of us individually. The whole thing was very heartbreaking but very serene. After she said all she needed she ask if she could pray over us and did so with such boldness and peacefulness. It was very beautiful.
The next day the chemo was started and blood work was taken before and after. That eve the doctor let us know that the cancer was responding to the chemo, her numbers before starting was 14000 and after chemo was down to 1000, not sure the term of the numbers he used but I do know it was related to her cancer cells so we were all very happy to hear that.
I stayed all weekend and during that time she went over her funeral wishes, her wishes for certain personal belongings to go to certain people, she discussed the music she wanted played at her funeral and what clothes she would like to be laid to rest in. This was a very difficult time for each of us and more so for her daughters but we all listened and took notes of her wishes. We cried and laughed and cried some more all weekend but, I can say that I left that hospital with peace in my heart and much respect for my sister. She is truely a strong lady. We are not sure if or for how long her cancer will hold out but I do know that the doc said this cancer was a rapid spreading cancer and it was everywhere already along with her other cancer but he also is very hopeful that her body will fight this and she will be a living miracle of God's mercy. Please continue to pray for all of us and for my sister to continue to be so strong and brave.

Other news. My 16 yo son has gone to live with his bio father. He has been very rebelious for several years now and has pretty much put our family through living hell. We love him with all our hearts and have forgivin him for all the hurt he has caused but felt that we needed to remove him from our home so we could heal and so hopefully he can mature while we are apart. This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made as a mother but I had to set my feelings aside and do what was best for everyone in our home. He left today on a greyhound bus heading to Albuquerque NM. Please keep him in your prayers, this is a huge change for all of us including his father whom is single and has been kid free for 7 years. Please pray for peace in our home and for healing of our hearts, please pray for direction in my sons life and that God changes his heart and grows him in his love and guidence. Please pray for me as a mama who has had to lift her wing and free her child because letting go is so hard, I am filled with fear and worry but praying through it and standing on faith that all will end well and this will pass and someday we will look back and be thankful for the decision we made.

I love you all and think of you as my dear friends your prayers and encouragment means so much to me I need it now more than you will know. My heart is broken and my tears are at a constant stream but I know with your prayers and friendship I will make it through this valley and be standing on a mountain once again.

Very heart breaking post.

Sorry I have not blogged in awhile still getting back into the swing of things now that I am back to bein a stay at home mommy.
Just a quick post this time though. I have won a couple of giveaways here in bloggy land and am now the proud owner of a beautiful hand made, crocheted to be exact, purse and a pattern. I will blog with pictures of those as soon as I find time. But for now would just like to give a big Thank you to the ladies that had these giveaways, you know who you are, I will post about their blogs and my winnings asap.

Now onto the reason for the title of this blog. As some of you know I have lost both my parents. My daddy went home May 21,2006 and mama went home to meet him on October 14,2007 only a year and 5 months apart. Well a few months after we lost mama my middle sister started getting ill and her bones were starting to break and when I say starting to break I literally mean it just like that, as a matter of fact the reason she was admitted to the hospital was because during a doctors visit her arm just made a huge popping sound and she was rushed down to x-rays and her arm was broke. She was admitted and placed in ICU where test were ran. She was over 8 quarts low of blood and was almost on her death bed. They gave her blood and she started to look and feel better but found out that same day that she had Multiple Maloma a bone cancer and it was in the 3rd stage and there are only 4 stages of this cancer and the 4th stage is death. She began chemo and did very well actually exceptionally well you would have never known she was even on chemo. She had no hair loss, well very little and it was all on her legs and arm pits which was a blessing more than than a burden. She did chemo for several months and went back in for her last treatment and found out her cancer was in remission. PRAISE GOD was all we could say. And she was so happy to know she was out of the woods. Even though when she was her sickest she was ready to go home and be with the Good Lord and our mama.
She did well up until a couple of months when she went back in for a check up and found out her cancer was back and they told her that it was not good for it to come back a second time and sure enough it has been more so here in the last couple of weeks which I just found out about, and here in the last couple of days she has gotten worse, to the point of her not sleeping or eating and she is unable to walk across the floor without getting out of breath. I talked to her oldest daughter tonight and she told me that her mom looked really bad, no color, no appetite and her eyes are black underneth and sunk in. My neice also said she has been asking them to help her get arrangements made and they all feel like she is not going to make it much longer. She has a doctors appt. tomorrow and hopefully they will admit her and get her to feeling better.
Please keep all of us in your prayers, and say an extra one for her 2 daughters and grandkids they are taking this expecially hard. We have dealt with too much loss in the last couple of years and none of us want to do it again, if it is God's will. Her name is Debbie and your prayers are greatly needed. Thanks

Yes I am still alive!

Just wanted to let all of my blogger buddies know that I am still around just been real busy getting my house back in order. Crazy how things can go down hill when you go from being a stay at home mom to a full time working mom. My house was in great need of a down deep cleaning. It is still not where I want it but it is getting there.

I plan on taking a break and doing some sewing I am in need. I will post with pictures.

Want a present from me?

Do I have five readers?

. Here's how it works.

The first five people to leave a comment on this post will get something from me.
But in return, you have to do the same thing on your blog and make something for five other people.
The details are as follows, and if you want to play, copy the following onto your blog and leave me a post:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get.
2. What I create will be just for you, with love.
3. It’ll be done this year (2009).
4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be.
It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber.
It may be weird or beautiful.
Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something strange.
6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.
7. Send your mailing address - after I contact you.

Okay get busy and leave me some comments so I can get busy making you something.

Some News about me

Well all of you know that about 5 months ago I started working at State Farm well, yesterday I got a letter from the boss letting me go, said he is over staffed and I was hired to take the place of someone else who was to be leaving and is no longer doing so. So, I am now back to being a stay at home mom which is fine with me I really missed being home although I will miss the extra money.

So now I am going to focus on opening my online shop and spending time with my family and catching up on a ton of house work, ugh.........................

Speaking of my shop, where is everyone? I have only got two comments on my last post about helping me name my shop. Come on bloggers I need some ideas going to have it up and running by this weekend (crossing fingers).

To etsy or not to etsy?

Inform me if you please about etsy.com. I am planning on opening shop online and trying to find the best place to do so. I see a lot of people using etsy and went on there and read all the terms and such last night but would still like some insider info. If any of you out there use etsy please share your experience with me before I begin this walk. This is a big step for me because it may be my new income, long story will give you all details on that later. My plan is to get this going this week so info is needed ASAP......
Thanks gals for all your support.

Should I open shop?

Hi bloggers, yes I am back after a long time of no blogging but, I have been reading blogs and keeping up with all my friends in blog land.

My 3 oldest kids from my 1st marriage lost their great grandmother on their dad's side this last weekend. Nora Casaus died at the age of 82 of a sudden diagnose of cancer that hit quick and took her life even quicker. She was a very love mamo, mother, friend, aunt and sister. We will all miss her dearly. We love you Mamo see you some day again in Heaven.

Well as you can see from the title of this post I am trying to decide on how to go about setting up shop, online that is, to start my own business of selling some of the hand made items I make. The items range from handmade jewlery, cloth dolls, childrens clothing, purses, and other goodies that I may create. This has been a dream of mine for years and I have finally decided that I need to just go for it and start somewhere. I am not very familiar with all the ins and outs of having an online shop so I am hoping that some of you out there can give me some advice and lead me in the direction I need to go to make this happen. I am not sure whether I should set up a blog with all my items or join etsy or maybe there is some place out there that is better then either of those for a home based business. There are a ton of questions I have that I am hopeing some of you can help me with also like, do I need to get a business license, do I need a tax id #, are the websites like ebay and etsy and such expensive.
If any of you ladies out there are willing to give a gal a hand in making a life time dream come true I would be so appreciative. Just lead me in the right directions and I will take it from there.

Onto other news, as I was saying my 3 oldest kids lost their ggrandma so we left Friday on a two and a half hour drive to attend her services. My little one stayed behind with Daddy because of our house load of animals we now have, that is a whole other story that I will have to update everyone on, a quicky is we now own two female ferretts(which we now love) and we added a 4th dog to our family, a german shephard that we adopted from the pound so now we have 2 female and 2 male dogs sharing our bed for most of the time, which is really making our queen sized bed feel more like a twin bed. Ugh......but we love them. Anyway back to what I was saying, the kids decided they wanted to spend some time with their family so they stayed and sent me back home by myself. I have talked to them daily and they are all having a great time and doing lots of catching up with Aunts, cousins and their Pampo and Grandma. The house is so quiet without them and lil sis is really starting to miss them. They are suppose to come home on Sunday unless they talk us into another week or so, it is their summer vacation too so guess we will have to consider that when they ask to stay longer.

IS IT FALL YET!

Sorry I know we have all been waiting for warm weather but my gosh I didn't think it would come over night we usually are able to work up to it by having some 70's then 80's then comes the humidity and hottness but not this year one day it was cold and the next you were sweating. My kids love it ofcourse cause they get to spend their hot days at the pool while mom and dad slave away at work, well atleast I am indoors all day, my poor hubby:(

Anyway, now that I am done whinning.

I have still done no sewing but have cut out a few patterns and have cut out some fabric using one of the ones for a skirt which is a very simple skirt and could be sewn up in 30 minutes if I would just do it.

I have missed all of you. I have been reading all of your blogs and staying up on what is going on with all my gals even though I have not posted myself.

Hope to share some pictures with all of you soon.

Happy Sweating, lol..................................

Quick post

Good morning bloggies. Was just noticeing something on my blog this morning and was wondering how many of you have ever noticed it. I am talking about my slideshow on the right hand side of my blog. I you have then you have noticed the little dolls that are on there. Some of you may be familiar with these but for those of you that are not they are called Dotee Dolls and they are tons of fun to make. I hand sew all their faces and they have a beaded tail and hanger, I have made several as birthday gifts for those las minute "Mom I have a party to go to this evening, can you make a gift", yeah you know what I am talking about. Well these are the way to go well, well one way to go I have made quick designer pillow cases, can never go wrong with one of those either.
Anyway for those of you who are unfamiliar with these little gals they are simple and super easy to make plus you design their look yourself which really makes them unique.
I learned how to make mine by doing a search at www.youtube.com , let me know what your comments if any are on these sweet and simple one of a kind dolls.
Happy Saturday......................................................................

In my books these gals are the ones who deserve these awards and maybe a all expense paid trip to the Bahamas, I promise if there is ever a giveaway for such a vacation I will elect you girls. lol

I have so many bloggers that I want to give this award to but I know that would take me all night so, here are just a few I would like to honor with this award.

Jana at http://lolaagain.blogspot.com/ this lady is truely and inspiration such a creative lady and a hilarious mom. She always has something neat to share on her blog and her kids are adorable how could she not show constant grattitude with faces like those.

http://auntpittypats.blogspot.com/ wow what a gal. This lady never misses posting on here, she is a very sweet loving gal that always has something to share. Pick her brain she is pretty funny:)

Jen at http://lipstickandlaundry.blogspot.com/ I just love this lady, she makes me laugh, oh did I mention she makes me laugh.

Now it is my turn to tell you how I have come to have an attitude of grattitude.

Well I would to say that it comes from my dear hubby. He has taught me how to enjoy life and how to take the bad with the good. He is always the first on my side when I come up with some crazy idea and yes I have had a few, he never discourages me and always encourages me no matter how little or big I may dream. He has taught me to be patient and to see that we are all deserving of love and kindness even when we should get a good swift kick in the you know where:) He has taught me to appreciate myself and that was a task that only a man with his strength could endure. He shows me daily how greatful he is to have me in his life, he show me daily what it means to be a daddy. He has helped me learn to be greatful for life no matter how glamours of lack of it may be. Thank you Dean for loving me.

Okay now that the oshy goshy crap is over lets move on to ME again and the other award that I got.

There are so many that I did not mention but that is not because you mean any less to me it only means that it is almost 10pm and I am tired and my brain is fried, so get over it, lol. I have learned so much since I have become a blogger and have so much creativness that it has inspired me to be creative. Each of you are blessed and are a constant blessing to so many others. Keep up the good work. Big Hugs to you all. Oh and I almost forget, be jealous, yes be very jealous over the rad fabric I won, I know I would be if it would have been you instead of me. Hello Bloggers

Hello everyone long time no blog......................

I have been crazy busy with work and getting my sewing stuff and craft stuff and scrapbooking stuff and books and etc...etc....ect.....organized and put away. So I have done no sewing what so ever and I am having some terrible withdrawls.
I have so much summer sewing to do for my girls and have started on none of it. Plus I have so much stash that if I don't start sewing soon I am not going to be able to buy anymore fabric for years and I don't think I can handle that you know with my sewing addiction and all, but I am at a point to where I have no more room for not even 1 more yard of fabric unless I get rid of some of our dishes or maybe I could clean out the food pantry I mean who needs to eat anyway, lol..................................

I have so many pictures that I need to share with all of you maybe I can have some extra time this weekend to upload them.

Sewing room update

Okay will last week I posted about loseing my sewing room. Well it happened I gave in and let my DD have her room back. I am now in my utility room where I originally started out. Oh what a mess we have created with this whole move. Ugh.......there was just not enough time this weekend to get it all done and so my house looks like we just moved in, there are boxes and bags and laundry everywhere, most of it is in my dining room cause it is my sewing stuff and I am having to re organize it all so I can fit it back into the small room I have been sentenced to.
I seriously need to go through my girls clothes they have way to much laundry that none of them keep up with and complain about it when they do have to wash. Guess I don't help with the hords of clothing when I continue to sew for them and add to the chaos. :)
I have been going home every day after work and working in the house for atleast an hour or so depending on how hungry my crew is when we get home and how early dh gets home to cook for everyone, lol, yes he has been the cook and bottle washer for awhile now he is usually home before me and so he just starts supper and so I just let him, lol. :P
I will post pictures of my new/old sewing space as soon as I can see it. lol.........................

What a fun weekend

Just wanted to share with all of you how wonderful weekend we had. My BFF and her kids and fiance came down for the Jr rodeo in our town. Her son Gage is a bull rider and a handsome one at that:) Our kids have grown up together, even though we have not always lived close to each other we have always stayed closely in touch.

It was so crazy seeing Katie and Gage as teenagers, they are such awsome kids with huge personalities. Funny how the years pass.

Our kids had such fun together and I think we had even more.lol.

I just love this gal......Go Katrina!
And have a looky at my whacky cowboy(not) husband:)
I love you Katrina your are truely my BFF and can be myself around you and apparntley much more:P

Give Away and other blabbings

http://grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com/2009/04/simple-skirts-giveaway.html

Just wanted to share with all of you these cute little skirts and the pretty little girl wearing them oh and lets not forget the awsome photographer. Stop by this blog and leave her a comment for a chance at winning one of these sweet little skirts.

As you all know I am into making skirts for my girls lately. I know I have promised pictures but unfortunitley my camera was borrowed and was just returned this past weekend, ugh.......... I do plan on taking some pictures of the girls Easter outfits and another skirt I have finished. I have not been doing much sewing outside of that, I still need to finish the top of mine that I started. One reason for my lack of sewing is a messy sewing room and I am the type that cannot be productive in such clutterdness(is that even a word?) and the room was my 11yo dd's room and she is now begging for it back even though it was her decision to move in with our youngest dd. I have not decided if I am going to give in to her yet, 1. is she is the one who begged to be in the room with her sister which was alot of re-arranging and moving of furniture, which if we move her back in her old room we will have to start that process all over. 2. I don't want to have to lose my space I would have to go back to the utility room where we originally planned would be my hobby room but since then I have accumulated lots and lots more stuff(mainly fabic) and I am not sure where I would put it all. I will take a picture of this area and all the stuff I need to make fit in there and see what, if any, ideas my blogger buddies come up with. Until then pray that my daughter changes her mind or I get the guts to put my foot down with her and say NO!

The weekend has come to an end

Man just when the fun begins the weekend ends. What is up with that? The week days drag by and the weekends fly by.

I did get a little sewing done this weekend, didn't sew as much as I wanted due to total laziness but did hit needle to thread which is more than I have done in awhile. So far this pattern is very easy but not to sure about the fabric I have chosen. It is a very thin knit fabric with a ton of stretch, I am still crossing my fingers that it comes out ok because I love the pattern on this material. Here is the pattern I am using.

It is Simplicity 3790. I just love this pattern and am very hopeful that I can finish it this week.

After this project I am going to start my girls Easter skirts, actually I may have to sit this one on the back burner and start the skirts right away seeing that Easter is this coming weekend. I will post pictures of the fabric I am using for the patterns above as well as fabric that I plan on using for the Easter outfits. Need to get my camera batteries charged cause I have tons of patterns I have purchased over the last couple of weeks as well as some wonderful fabric that I must show off.

Tomorrow it is back to the drawing board. Hope you all have a great week.

Here I sit...........

Well here I sit at work waiting for the phone to ring or someone to walk in. Nothing.......So, I thought I would post on my blog and catch up on some of your blogs.

Our two youngest girls went to stay with their grandparents on Sunday for Spring break, but they are more then ready to come, think they are home sick which happens every time any of our kids leave home, even for just one night. So this eve. it will be daddy to the rescue. He will drive about an hour and a half and get our girls safely home where they can immediatly begin to drive us crazy,lol..................Oh well missing them for a short time was nice anyway.

Work is going great, finally starting to learn the ways of insurance, still have a ton to learn but feel like I am on my way.

Have still done zero sewing although I think about it constantly. By the time I get home in the eve. all I want to do is relax and do nothing. I am going to make myself get on the ball this weekend though my mind is dying for something new to make.

Have ya missed me?

Hi bloggers long time since my last blog. Working has taken more time than I thought it would. lol. Like all day. But it is going well and getting a pay check has been great also.

I have not done much sewing but have done lots of buying of fabric for up coming sewing projects. I just need to get into the swing of working and haveing a life.

I will post pics of some of the fabrics I have purchased in the next couple of days. I have bought some really cute fabrics to make my girls summer clothes. One of my favorites is a aque blue with black and white pictures of Elvis in his younger years, I plan on making the girls a skirt out of this and add some red and white polka dot material as the ruffle at the bottom. It is all in my head I just have to get it to the sewing machine and completed.

Hope you all come around and comment on my blog from time to time. I miss you all, bear with me my creativeness has not left me it has just gone on vacation for now. Ugh..........................

Like a good Neighbor

State Farm is there!

Okay I couldn't resist, I know you all have been wondering when I was going to do that, so there it is, I got it out and I am feeling much better now, lol.......

So far work is going good, I am really enjoying the socializing part more than anything I think. After being a stay at home mom for so many years which I loved I didn't get much socializing except what I got with ages 16 and under, so haveing other women to chat with here and there through the day has been very nice.

I still have tons to learn but thank goodness everyone is being very patient with me. For now anyway,lol.....

Well I have not got any sewing done and am so missing my machine and sewing room. I was planning on doing some this past weekend but we ended up going out of town to do some shopping so I am not complaining I never turn down a day of shopping. During our shopping spree we got one of these

we got a couple of games

and the kids have not stopped playing it since we brought it home. I did get to play it for a little bit last night and I must say it is very addictive. The Mario games are alot like the ones from the old Nintendo game which I loved and I could play. Fun... Fun...Fun......................................
