Well I did get a little and I mean a little sewing done last night. I decided last week to go through my clothes and purge and boy did I, I am down to nothing but, I decided this year I was going to make the bulk of my clothes and to do that I needed to get rid of the "not so loved" stuff which ended up being almost everything I owned. I was going to load it all up and take it to our local thrift shop, but after looking at all the cute patterns and such on the clothes I decided to re-make this wardrobe so that it would work, No not for me, for my two youngest daughters. I am not sure if I will be able to use every piece but, I am going to try. Bear with me on this cause I will have to use lots of creativeness to make this work.
Here is the pile of clothes in my sewing room floor.
Here is the first top I decided to makeover.
Cutting stage
And a wearable skirt

That's a great idea..skirt is very cute!
Is that embroidered flowers? Can't tell. You could embellish with a crocheted doily at one lower front-side with a flower trio from a yoyo and some appliqued leaves. Or edge with purchased lace. You cough, I can't type this afternoon. It took forever to get this post right.
Great Idea, I have a small granddaughter, and I also need to re-vamp my wardrobe. xxx
Thanks and yes Myra those are embroidered flowers, thanks for the great embellishment ideas. Also was going to visit your blog but you don't have it set up for view.
Very clever idea!! Its really sweet..

This skirt looks very sweet. I can't throw any clothes away or donate them since I learned to sew. There always seems to be potential in something... just don't know where to stow it all!!
I just nominated your blog for an award. Stop by and pick it up when you get the time.
What a wonderful idea!! I have 5 grandchildren and fabric can get very expensive. I have a whole closet of clothes I can't, or won't, wear anymore!!! i guess I'd better get in there and check it out. i do use antique linens, such as tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs, etc... to incorporate into alot of my children's clothes. I'll post some of them soon.
Great idea on recycling your wardrobe. I really do need to purge more from my closet. Why do I have to be so sentimental about things.
Thiss is a great blog
